Banana, Peanut, Chia Power Smoothie

Kick-start your day with a delicious and energy filled banana power smoothie! This will keep the “hangries” at bay and fuel you with tons of nutrients and anti-oxidants.

Interesting to note that raw cacao has 40 times more anti-oxidants than blueberries – POW! This is handy to us living in Nicaragua where blueberries are an expensive commodity – not to mention fresh ones non-existent, and raw cacao is easily accessible form the local markets, winning.

Did you know, that “Chia” is the ancient Mayan word for strength?

Banana, Peanut, Chia Power Smoothie:

Yields 2 cups

2 Fresh bananas

3 ice cubes

2 T Homemade peanut butter

1 T chia seeds

1 1/2 T Raw cacao, ground

150ml Almond / Coconut Milk

2 T Natural yoghurt

1 T Dessicated coconut

Roasted, unsalted peanuts – optional

 

  • Throw all the ingredients into your blender and blitz until smooth
  • If you want to have some extra bite to it, sprinkle some coconut and peanuts on top afterwards – yum!
